Procedures
Endoluminal AAA repair
This technique allows for repair of an aneurysm through two small incisions in the groin instead of traditional incision in the abdomen. Recovery is much faster and risks are lower. Results are very good. Utilizing catheters and wires a graft can be placed inside the aneurysm to repair it.
Endoluminal Thoracic Aneurysm repair
Endoluminal repair is performed through small incision or incisions in the groin. This type of repair replaces traditional repair through an incision in the chest. Results are equivalent to open surgical repair but recovery is faster. Utilizing catheters and wires
a graft can be placed inside the aneurysm to repair it.
Robotic Assisted OPCAB
Robotic assisted CABG is performed using the DaVinci to dissect the internal mammary artery and subsequently performing the Anastomosis through a limited left mini thoracotomy incision.
The video demonstrates the IMA dissection robotically assisted.
OPCAB
Off Pump Coronary Artery Bypass (OPCAB) is also known as beating heart surgery. The coronary arteries can be bypassed without the used of the heart lung machine while the heart is beating. There is a tendency towards faster recovery, less usage of blood transfusions and shorter hospital stays.
VATS
Video Assisted Thoracoscopic Surgery (VATS) allows chest surgeries to be performed through very small incisions in the chest rather than the traditional large open incision. With the help of a video camera surgery can be performed with special instruments and avoid a large incision. Recovery is much faster and discomfort is significantly decreased post surgery.
